MAC, NARS, MakeUp Forever, Lancome Foundation Review

An in depth foundation review. These are your makeup counter, higher end foundations. I also have a review on drug store foundations as well. I know it's overwhelming to shop for anything make-up related these days with new brands to older brands coming out with different things that it starts to get confusing. Well, I tried my fair share of foundations from high end to drug store. What you see before you are my five main go-to foundations for different occasions and reasons. Basically I use these foundations on different occasions, depending on the coverage that each of them gives me. I hope this review help my fellow followers on their quest to find their perfect foundation. I guess we can start with the two MAC foundations

MAC Face and Body Foundations.
This is a water based foundation and you can feel it on your skin. It's very very light so it's super buildable. It helps moisturize and condition the skin while helping cover small imperfections. I get little coverage with this. I like to use this for nights when I'm going out and pictures will be taken because this foundation has no SPF. You want a non-SPF foundation when there are flash photography going to be around because the lights from the flash will make your face look ghostly white. Even bronzer won't help you hide from the flash. Also, if you wanted to just even out your skin tone and nothing too heavy, this foundation is your best choice.

MAC Select SPF 15 Foundation
This is another water based foundation. I find that this foundation gives me better coverage than the Face and Body because it's feels heavier. I start with small layers and work my way up depending what kind of coverage I need or want. It contains SPF 15 so it will protect your face from the sun (though it does not excuse you not to wear sunscreen). I feel like this foundation is the heaviest out of the five so when I really need the coverage, I grab this foundation

MakeUp Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation
This foundation is a must have for any makeup collection. This foundation gives you the coverage you want without leaving the face too heavy and doesn't really show that you are wearing foundation. Also, its very buildable but all I ever need is one pump and it gives me enough coverage for my whole face. This is my go-to foundation whenever. It's good to wear to any occasion and I have no flaws with this foundation.

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation
There was a lot of science that went behind making this foundation. It says that it provides 18 hours of hydration to your face ... I kind of beg to differ. I'm not saying it's not a good foundation, it's a pretty good damn one but I don't really see a difference between this and my MakeUp Forever one. The only thing I like about this foundation is that it contains rose water which reduces the redness on your face. I like to wear this when I have a few breakouts or redness on my face so it won't irrate my face when I need to wear foundation.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
This is the newest addition to my foundation family and I have to say, I absolutely love it. With the summer heat hitting us pretty badly these days, I always reach for my NARS Sheer Glow. Why? Because it's a very light foundation. It does the job of giving me the coverage I want but it's so light that I don't feel it on my face (which is amazing on those hot and humid days). It makes my skin look brighter without totally covering my whole face. I have freckles and it allows my freckles to still be seen while just evening out skin and hiding any imperfections I have. I definitely recommend this foundation to any who wants light to medium coverage.

I don't really have anything bad to say about the different foundations I have. Like I said, I wanted to experiment and try the different formulas out to see which ones I would buy again and why. I hope this helps you on your journey of finding the perfect foundation. Happy Shopping.

OPI Touring America Collection Fall 2011

The new OPI collection just recently came out. The 12 shades of polish were inspired by American cities with rich cultural heritage, according to OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. The colors are very classic glamour and nostalgic of a bygone era (or at least that’s what I got from the marketing material). We only bought 6 of the 12 shades. Very beautiful classic colors. I’m sure they will go great with any fall wardrobe!

Maybelline Shine Sensation Popstick Review

Yesterday we went out to get some nail polish remover and we ended up buying a dozen tubes of lipstick. Impulse buy, or course (drugstore lipstick mini haul coming soon!). I decided to review the Maybelline Shine Sensation Popstick  first since I was so excited about buying them.

We ended up getting just two colors, Citrus Slice and Pink Lollipop. The lipsticks are translucent and kind of look like jolly ranchers. And of course, they smelled edible. They are very sheer with just the tiniest hint of color. If your lips are already pigmented, like mine, its even harder to see color (hint: color does not show up like in those beautiful ads). They are more of a chapstick/lip gloss than a lipstick. Aside from that... they are fun to look at and wear. It's like candy for your lips. Just don't expect color. Ciao!

Shopping is not a hobby, it's a lifestyle

and that's the kind of lifestyle that we live . we as in I'm Tiffany and my younger sister, Ava have decided to share with everyone our lifestyle and shopping experience living in the big city, New York City that is . believe me, shopping in NYC is hard and deals are even harder to find but we make do with what we can and with this economy, every penny saved is a penny earn.

we live by the term, work hard, play harder . we aren't those spoiled bitches that have our mommies & daddies buy us everything . we work hard in order to get everything that we want and need . it feels alot better when you go and buy your favorite pair of shoes or bags with your hard earn money, rather than cry and whine and have your mom or dad get it for you . everything on this site that we mentioned will or have been purchased by us unless otherwise stated . so with that as my introduction, let me take you on a recent shopping trip I had in the city :)

Recently, I went to the Lord & Taylor on 5th Ave with my sister Ava and we picked up a few things from the makeup counters

I stopped by the Lancome counter and picked up their new Heatwave palette from their summer collection. I love these colors . I love neutral counters and the reason why I picked these up was because the colors are so glittery. I wouldn't suggest you wear them for everyday but once in awhile, a little bit of glitter really brings out a person's eyes.

I also picked up their new new Teint Miracle foundation pen and this is a lifesaver. I just carry this with me and just with two clicks, I have enough foundation/ concealer to last me all day. No more messy brushes and big bottles to carry around. Just slip this with you and proof, touch ups are made simpler.

Also, I could not resist not buying another lipstick. This one is from their L'Absolu Rouge collection and it's in the color "Blush Classique". It's a nice dark shade of pink but when you wear it, it's doesn't come on that dark. Also what I absolutely LOVE about this collection is the packaging. Their caps have a magnetic seal on it so you never have to worry that your lipstick is going to open in your purse. It will always close correctly and when you slip the cover on halfway, the cover just snaps close from the magnet. It's ingenious!

I also stopped by the DIOR counter and picked up the amazing new lipstick called the "DIOR LIPGLOW". I like to call this lipstick, the mood changing lipstick. What sold me about this particular lipstick is that the color is going to be different on everyone. It acts on with the chemicals of a person's lips and it creates a color just for that person. So I had a brighter red for me and Ava had a darker pink for her. It was amazing. We each both bought one just because we know we'd fight over it. It's also very hydrating which is totally in this summer. If you want a unique lipcolor, you should definitely check out the LipGlow.

I also picked up an eyecream from Clinque but that's not really that interesting and that's about it. I think next I'll post up a clothing haul to mix things up a bit. Till then, happy shopping
